Problem solving tips like these are similar to what a professional like Regard Yakou might offer a young construction management professional:
•        Clearly Define the Problem
Before a problem can be solved, it must be clearly defined. Find the source of the problem, analyze it from several perspectives, consider why you want to solve the problem and define the constraints of the problem in the defining stage. Do not begin solving the problem before it is defined.
•        Learn About the Problem
Once you’ve defined your problem, learn about it. Professionals like Regard Yakou study problems so they can set the right goals, understand available resources, find alternative solutions, make step-by-step plans and evaluate progress as the problem is solved. The more you understand the problem, the easier it will be to resolve.
